National Insurance Mediclaim for Senior Citizen Policy

This policy has been designed to cater to the needs of Senior Citizens. The policy provides coverage for Hospitalization and Domiciliary Hospitalization Expenses as well as expenses for treatment of Critical Illnesses if opted for, Critical Illness cover is an optional cover under the policy.
Sum Insured cover under Hospitalization & Domiciliary Hospitalization is Rs.1,00,000/- and under Critical Illness cover Sum Insured is Rs.2,00,000/-.
The policy age is from 60 years to 80 years. However, for renewal, age limit will be extended up to 90 years; in which the premium of 76-80 age band will be loaded by 10% up to 85 years and 20% up to 90 years of age.
No Medical Check up is required if the insured was covered under any Health Insurance Policy of National Insurance Company or other Insurance companies uninterruptedly for preceding three years. Other persons have to undergo medical check up at their own cost
All claims under this policy shall be payable in Indian Currency only and medical treatments covered under the insurance will have to be taken in India only.

Cumulative Bonus- Sum insured under this policy shall be progressively increased by 5 % in respect of each claim free year of insurance subject to maximum accumulation of 10 claim free years of insurance.
In case of claim under the policy in respect of insured person who has earned the cumulative bonus, the percentage will be reduced by 10% of sum insured at the next renewal. However, basic sum insured will be maintained and will not be reduced.
The insured shall be entitled for reimbursement of the cost of medical check up once at the end of block of every three underwriting years provided there are no claims reported during the block. The cost so reimbursable shall not exceed the amount equal to 2 % of the amount of average sum insured excluding cumulative bonus during block of three underwriting years.
