ABN Amro Bank New Gold Card Review

ABN Amro New Gold Card is designed exclusively for shoppers as it earns them those shopping privileges and benefits. Though the benefits on offer are discount benefits and Reward Points program which are common among most shopping cards the card has nothing new or exclusive to offer its users.
The card has an attractive Reward Points program allowing its users to earn 2 points for every Rs 100 spent. Though the value of each Reward point is not known yet they can be redeemed for exciting range of gift vouchers. Surprisingly, the card does not have feature like Cash Back which is extremely common among shopping cards. Thus even though the card has few good features the major ones are missing.
Another setback for the card is its high cost. The card has a Joining fee of Rs 500 and Annual fee of Rs 1000 making it one of the costliest cards on offer. The features which are common to most other shopping cards, does not justify its high cost.
The card can be compared to other shopping cards like Standard Chartered Gold Rewards Card and Kotak Mahindra Fortune Gold Credit Card. The card when compared to these cards is similar on offerings but very high on cost. Also the interest rate charged on the card is 3.5% p.m. which again is high in comparison to the other two cards.
