Axis Bank Platinum Credit Card Review

  • Axis Bank Platinum Credit Card is designed for people who wish to own ‘Platinum’ offering of a credit card even if the card falls short of offerings. This is a Platinum card for the masses as it has no Joining and Annual fees. The card is very affordable on all fronts and offers benefits that are available in Silver and Gold edition credit cards of other banks. Simply put the card is an average card on offerings and by no means deserves a Platinum status.

The card Reward points program offers 1 PlusPoint (Reward Points are referred as PlusPoints in this program) for every Rs.100 spent on Domestic Spends and 2 PlusPoints for every International Spend of Rs. 100. The card offers 2.5% savings on fuel purchase, BUT SURPRISINGLY fuel purchase does not earn you Reward points. The card offers discounts on few other purchases as well.

The insurance cover with the card is impressive offering Air Accident Cover along with credit shield. The card also provides coverage for lost card liability upto Rs 3 lakh. Another impressive feature of the card is that it has zero replacement card charges.

Axis Bank Platinum Credit Card has no Joining or Annual fee. Comparing the card to Platinum offerings of other banks is not justified. The interest rate offering on the card is 2.95% p.m. which is competitive in nature.

    hi,
My CTC is 1,80,000. Please let me know if I am eligible to hold a credit card. If yes, please guide me which is the best choice out of the credit cards available with axis bank for me.Pls also let me know about the credit limit for that segment.

  2. You are eligible for the basic credit cards of Axis bank as few credit cards with the bank have the minimum salary requirement of Rs1.5 lakh. The credit limit of the cards is decided by banks at their prejudice and net worth of the individual. For the same, you can contact the bank.

Unfortunately, the information is a little out dated. As per the branch i visited, the Platinum card do have a joining fee of INR 500 and a yearly fee of INR 200. The joining fee is reimbursed on purchase of INR 5000 or above in the first 45 days of card being issued.
Also the cards are given based on the below salary bands of an individual
Monthly income < INR 25000 – Basic card
Monthly income between INR 25000 and INR 43000 – titanium
Monthly income between INR 43k and I,15,000 – Platinum
    Monthyl income > 150k – Signature cards.
    Hope this information helps.
Yes, their interest rates are almost .50% less than HDFC ( 3.25 % ) and to mee it looks like a better card – well i have applied for one, better or not is the test of time
