Citibank Platinum Select Credit Card Review

  • Citibank’s Platinum Select Credit Card is designed exclusively for people who enjoys luxury but at a cost. This is simply because the card comes with a Joining and Annual fees of Rs 4000, which is slightly on the higher side when compared to Platinum credit cards of other banks like Standard Chartered and Axis bank. Though the card justifies its high cost by welcoming you with gift vouchers and movie tickets, yet it falls short to convince large number of its users.

The card when compared on features and benefits to offer has most things common to other platinum cards like golf course access, 50% off on Green Fees, access to MasterCard Clipper lounges at Domestic and International Airports, etc. Yet the card scores on few exclusive benefits to its user like reserving tables and a minimum year round discount of 15% at more than 150 top end restaurants across Mumbai and Delhi.
Reward points earning is an expensive affair with Citibank Platinum Select Credit Card which offers 1 point for every Rs 125 spent, though on selected categories of Apparel, Footwear, Bookshops, Restaurants, etc you can earn upto 5 points for Rs 125 spent. This when compared to banks like HSBC which offers 2 points for every Rs 150 spent. Holiday bookings done on travelrewards (in association with Travelguru, India's largest hotel network), can earn you 3 times the rewards.

Interest rate offering is where the Citibank Platinum Select Credit Card scores considerably as the card offers a competitive interest rate of 2.5% p.m. where other banks are offering 3.10 to 3.15% p.m. in their platinum section. The card though has higher fixed expense bracket like Joining and Annual fees, yet lower interest offering makes it economically viable when you are out there shopping.

  1. CITI Bank pays to marchent with out signed marchent copy, then even won't cross check the duplicate Transcation.
one of marchent swiped my card 4times and due machine problem he was not able to get the marchent copy. after 4th trail he got the copy and I signed it.
When I saw the statment, citi bank had paid four times and they even least bother about the collecting back the amount.
Please don't go for citi bank credit cards
