HDFC Premium Gold Credit Card Review

HDFC Premium Gold Credit Card is designed exclusively for shoppers as it earns them those shopping privileges and benefits. Though the benefits on offer are discount benefits and Reward Points program which are common among most shopping cards the card has nothing new or exclusive to offer its users.
As for the card’s Reward Points program it allows its users to earn 1.5 points for every Rs 150 spent provided spends of above Rs. 10,000 in a statement cycle. Though the value of each Reward point is not known yet they can be redeemed for exciting range of gifts and services. The card also allows its users to convert Reward points into Airline Miles to avail travel benefits. Surprisingly, the card does not have feature like Cash Back which is extremely common among shopping cards.
The card has no Joining fee but an Annual fee of Rs 2000 making it one of the costliest cards on offer. The features which are common to most other shopping cards, does not justify its high cost.
The card can be compared to other shopping cards like Standard Chartered Gold Rewards Card and Kotak Mahindra Fortune Gold Credit Card. The card when compared to these cards is similar on offerings but very high on cost. Interest rate charges are important criterion with shopping cards due to volume of transactions. The interest rate charged by HDFC Premium Gold Credit Card is 3.25% p.m. which is competitive in regards to other two cards.
