HDFC Value Plus Credit Card is designed for shoppers and has features like Cashback which results in bulk savings when you are out there shopping. Though the feature is the backbone of any shopping card, it is the Cashback percentage and the amount which results in Cashback is of actual importance. As for HDFC Value Plus Credit Card get 5% Cashback on Railways, hospitals, etc. and 1.5% on grocery, dept. stores, etc. irrespective of the amount. Thus the card though state to offer 5% Cashback on retail spends the percentage varies from 1.5% to 5%.
The card lacks several features along with Reward Points program. The card has no specific Reward Points program which is a must for any shopping card. Simply put for any shopping card to succeed in the market it should have a healthy Cashback and Reward Points program and HDFC Value Plus Credit Card just has an average Cashback program.
The Card has no Joining fee but an Annual fee of Rs 700 which is slightly higher because most shopping cards have no Joining or Annual fees. The card when compared to other shopping cards like Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium Credit Card and SBI Gold and More Card is at par with regards to charges but low on offerings.
The interest rate charged on these sections of cards is an important criterion due to volume of transactions. The interest rate charged on HDFC Value Plus Credit Card is 3.25% p.m. which is competitive with regards to other two cards.
