SBI Gold and More Card Review

SBI Gold and More Card is designed for shoppers and offers discounts and benefits to its users when they are out there shopping. Surprisingly the card apart from shopping benefits has no other benefits to offer to its users. No travelling or leisure discounts, benefits are offered to SBI Gold and More Card holders. Thus if you are frequent flyer or out on holiday don’t expect any privileges or travelling benefits if you possess this card.

Gold category credit cards of most banks are All Rounder, i.e. the card along with shopping benefits has discounts and offer on other possible expenses be it travelling, leisure, etc. Thus the card is a disappointment for its travelling customers. The card offers shopping privileges and benefits which are common among most Gold card offering. This implies that the card has nothing exclusive to offer its users.

The card’s Reward Points Program allows you to earn one point for every Rs 75 spent. However, the worth of each Reward point (in rupees) is not mentioned.
The card states to offer a host of rewards on redeeming the Reward points, but does not state the available options for redemption.

SBI Gold and More Card when compared to other Gold category credit cards like Kotak Mahindra Fortune Gold Credit Card and Standard Chartered Gold Rewards Card falls short of expectations with regards to Gold offerings and privileges.

SBI Gold and More Card has a Joining and Annual fee of Rs 500. This when compared to cards like Kotak Mahindra Fortune Gold Credit Card and Standard Chartered Gold Rewards Card which has no Joining and Annual fees. The interest rate offering on the card is also high in comparison at 3.35% p.m.

Thus the card with high charges and low offering has very few takers in the market and similar is the case with SBI’s Gold and More Card.
