SBI Platinum Credit Card Review

SBI Platinum Credit Card is designed for people who indulge in extreme shopping. The card though offers extremely attractive shopping discounts and benefits lacks in other important credit card fields like travelling, leisure, etc. Platinum credit cards offered by most banks are All-Rounder, i.e. the card along with shopping benefits has discounts and offer on other possible expenses be it travelling, leisure, etc. which is not the case with SBI’s Platinum Credit Card.
The card offers an attractive Reward Points Program allowing you to earn one power point (Reward points are referred as power points in this program) for every Rs 50 spent. However, the worth of each power point (in rupees) is not mentioned.
Reward points can be redeemed against a host of shopping outlets and their respective gift vouchers but no travel redemption options.
SBI Platinum card offers privileges which are common to most Platinum offerings. The card has nothing exclusive to offer its users. The card when compared to other credit cards like Citibank Platinum Credit Card and Standard Chartered Platinum Elite Card; falls short of expectations with regards to Platinum offerings and privileges.
SBI Platinum Credit Card has a Joining and Annual fees of Rs 1500. This is higher when compared to cards like Citibank Platinum Credit Card but competitive to cards like Standard Chartered Platinum Elite Card. The interest rate offering of the card is 3.10% p.m. which again is similar to other Platinum Credit card offerings.
SBI Platinum Credit Card is a card that will suit your pocket but will fall short with regards to your expectations.
Reward Points 4
Interest Rate 2
Joining and Annual fees 3
